South Riding Nurseries’ [SRN] plant buyers headed west to Oregon’s fertile Willamette Valley to tour several growers that we were not able to see last year. Even after record cold and ice last winter and extreme heat earlier this summer, this productive region continues to produce an abundance of great plant material. We were able to review thousands of acres of nursery stock and are some snapshots of what we saw. There will be some plant shortages especially with Skip laurels, larger Japanese maples and even Emerald Green arborvitae over 5 ft. [Photos taken the week of 19 Jul 2021; set 2 of many.]
