‘One of my favorite tasks at the nursery is helping with tagging larger stock orders. I get to walk the entire nursery, block by block, row by row, and tree by tree, and pick the best native trees each season based on customers’ expectations.  We look for uniformity, and in younger blocks of trees (under 2 in caliper), we strive to tag every other tree so that the remaining trees have more space to grow onto the next larger size. A good day is using an entire case of florescent green ribbon equating to several hundred trees tagged and over 15,000 steps and not falling in a tree hole’.
