An Important Update from South Riding Nurseries.
TUESDAY 11 NOVEMBER 2025
It is with sadness and regret that after nearly twenty-five years in business, I write to you today to announce the permanent closure of South Riding Nurseries, LLC at the end of this year. Our final day of business will be Wednesday 31 December. This was not an easy decision, but rising land costs and associated taxes in Prince William County make our presence here increasingly difficult. We have explored opportunities to move further west, but such a move would inevitably have a negative impact on our ability to serve our customers and associates at the level you have come to expect from SRN.
We started out on Stonecroft Road in Chantilly in the spring of 2001 with just four employees, including Matt Teese, John Biche, and me. After a few years of retail next to Sheetz in South Riding, then shifting to wholesale-only, we took on the challenge of relocating to Bristow in January 2016. We have been fortunate to see our business, employees, and customers grow. We have prided ourselves not only on developing strong long-term business relationships based on professionalism and experience, but also on personal relationships that include being on a first-name basis with virtually all of our customers and stakeholders.
We want to be transparent and responsive to all your questions and concerns. Here is what you can expect during this transition:
-
- We are keeping our entire team in place through the end of the year, and we will be here ready to service your needs for landscape plants and hardgoods.
- We will honor all quotes and orders and new orders that ship before the end of the year.
- We will continue to have truckloads of new and fresh material arriving daily over the next several weeks.
- Our team will be available to answer any questions or concerns you may have regarding the closure. Please feel free to contact us.
- Our accounting office will be available until 30 January 2026. Please contact Debbie with any questions about outstanding invoices, credits or billing questions.
We remain grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of your business and for your loyalty and support over the years. It has truly been a privilege to serve you, and we cherish the relationships we have built with employees, customers, and vendors as partners that helped us grow and thrive over the past quarter-century.
Please do not hesitate to contact me directly via email or on 571-220-1483 should you have further questions or concerns.
Thanks,
Matt Deivert
President, South Riding Nurseries LLC
